Serpentine Pavilion

Award-winning Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto has come up trumps with his design for the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2013 in Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, central London. He has created what is in effect a massive steel climbing frame for adults. From a distance it is see-through and insubstantial, a cloud of mist rising from the ground. It suits its parkland setting perfectly. It opens to the public on Saturday 8 June, when Mr Fujimoto will give a public talk about his designs (CLICK). Brenda Emmanus visited the Pavilion for BBC London News (CLICK).
