PM's Diwali

The successful politician and his missus will do anything to grab votes. Here's PM David Cameron with his wife Samantha, celebrating Duwali at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir temple in Neasden, London, yesterday. The PM looks out of place in his business suit, but Samantha fits in snugly wearing a tasteful, elegant sari edged with gold. This should grab the votes of Hindus, Jains and Sikhs throughout Britain. For those of you not in the know, Duwali is roughly a combination of Christmas, Harvest Festival and Bonfire Night. The Neasden temple is the largest outside India, a masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship hand-carved in India from Italian Carrara and Indian Ambaji marble and Bulgarian limestone, assembled like a gigantic jigsaw in London (CLICK). It opens its doors to non-believers as part of Open House London in September.
