Goodbye Piccadilly
Here's another exhibition about World War 1: Goodbye Piccadilly: from Home Front to Western Front, which opens on 16 May at the London Transport Museum. This one reveals the untold story of London’s Home Front during the war. Londoners came under attack from the air for the first time. Did you know that 1,000 London buses like the one shown - 'Ole Bill', a 1911 B-type bus No. B43 - were sent to the Western Front to ferry troops to and from the trenches? This bus, borrowed from the Imperial War Museum, is one of many objects brought together for the first time for this major exhibition, including propaganda posters (CLICK).
