Maritime Museum

Today the National Maritime Museum in London put on display its latest acquisition: Alan Sorrell's five-panel, nine-metre-long mural Working Boats from around the British Coast, designed for the Festival of Britain in 1951. I didn't realise we had mermaids "manning" our ships back then. The mural is on display in the Sammy Ofer Wing (CLICK). In two days time a major new exhibition opens in the Special Exhibitions Gallery: Ships, Clocks and Stars: The Quest for Longitude, entry £8.50 (CLICK).
