Malala wins Nobel
At 17, Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani schoolgirl shot in the head by the Taliban for advocating girls' education, has become the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. She shares the 2014 prize with Indian child rights campaigner Kailash Satyarthi (CLICK). While Malala's ex-schoolmates are proud of her achievements and regard her as a heroine, the conservative element in Pakistan mutters darkly about her influence. Pakistan is one of those benighted countries ruled by Sharia Law where you can be beheaded for being an atheist!
