George Stubbs in USA

Yo all, down in Memphis. You've got a rare treat coming your way. The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art has buttered up Lady Juliet Tadgell to such an extent that Her Ladyship has allowed you Yanks a privilege she denies her fellow Brits. Masterpieces from an English Country House: The Fitzwilliam Collection opens in Memphis on 16 September and stays until 3 December 2006. The collection includes works by George Stubbs, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Claude Lorraine, Salomon van Ruysdael and Anthony van Dyck, as well as a full set of Audubon's Birds of America. What a way to celebrate the Brooks Museum's 90th year! Don't miss it. It's finger-lickin' good. (Sorry, Colonel. I couldn't resist that. And don't all rush to tell me that Memphis is in Tennessee, not Kentucky.)
