Twilight at the V&A

Robert Adams - Aurora, Colorado (1979) © Robert AdamsAn unusual photographic exhibition opened today at London's V&A Museum: Twilight: Photography in the Magic Hour, as seen through the lenses of eight contemporary photographers. Gregory Crewdson's photos are shot like a Hollywood movie. The results are a bit like Hollywood itself: contrived, staged, yet powerful. Photos by Chrystel Lebas are the exact opposite: using long exposures to catch forest scenes in natural fading light. So, variety. Click the title link to view some of the exhibits in pop-up boxes. The exhibition continues until 17 December. The bad news is that concessions are a joke, worse than the French: £4/£5. That's 80%! Come off it, V&A. 50% or get lost.
