UK Films Lose Tax Perk

Halle Berry as Storm in X-men (Coxsoft enhanced graphic, 2007)It's dodgy news for the Brit. film industry, and Halle Berry's eyes are blazing. The UK Government has closed a tax loophole which allowed investors in high-risk ventures, such as movies, to offset their losses against their tax bill. The X-men movies were financed under this system. Some financiers are predicting it will now be much harder to persuade investors to finance movies. Others claim it won't make any difference. The big question is: Are we on a level playing field with Yankee investors in the film industry? Any idea, Gordon?
