Pioneering Photography

Pioneering Photo Sequence by Eadweard MuybridgeWhile we're on the subject of photos of children in the nude (next post down) how about a series of photos of two naked boys playing leapfrog? The very idea would have the Aussie PM spitting blood. But photos such as these allowed research into the movements of humans and animals. They revolutionized equestrian art. And they were the birth of the movies. See them at The Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao, Spain: The Ordóñez-Falcón Collection: Pioneers of Photography (1845-1930). This exhibition opened yesterday and runs until 14 September. Warning: insanely, the museum website (title link) produces a pop-up when you select the English button! So switch off your pop-up stopper.
