Welcome to Big Bang Day. Will Switzerland blew up? Will the World Wide Web go down? And why waste £5 billion on that Large Hadron Collider (LHC) needed to run what is bound to be an inconclusive experiment in particle physics? I have as much faith in the Big Bang Theory as I have in the Garden of Eden. More to the point, how will this experiment help the world's poor?
