Darwin Centre

The Natural History Museum in London has begun the countdown to the opening of its new Darwin Centre in one year's time. Above, you see artists' impressions of the exterior of the Darwin Centre and on the right the 8-storey Cocoon inside, a state-of-the-art scientific research and collections facility costing £78 million. Impressive, but not so grand as the Victorian Gothic edifice with its gargoyles and natural history designs.
