Freud Early Works

Back in the days before he became a Big Name and a tired old hack, Lucian Freud produced some interesting paintings. Here's one example: his Dead Heron (1945). From 9 October to 12 December, London art dealers Hazlitt Holland-Hibbert will be showing Lucian Freud Early Works 1940-1958 (title link). Many of the paintings are from private collections not usually on display to the public. The earliest works date from 1939, when the artist was only 16. Could be a worthwhile show.
