Zaha Hadid Portrait
Garish, isn't it? More a neon sign than a portrait. It's one of those new clever-dick technical thingies which attempt to hide lack of artistic talent. It's the first work by Michael Craig-Martin to be commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery in London; hopefully it will also be the last. A computer-driven LCD monitor displays a fixed line drawing of the subject - architect Zaha Hadid, in case you hadn't recognized her - and changes the ghastly colours randomly to stop Philistines with low attention thresholds from getting bored. This sort of thing has been popular as fibre-optic displays for decades, but as art yuk! It's in Room 39. Click the title link for details.

looks like a scene from the Exorcist.
It reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the North in The Wizard of Oz.
Nice, looks like contemporary portraiture didn't die with Warhol.
Lennard, you're just trying to wind me up! Warhol couldn't have painted a portrait if he tried. He just splashed nasty colours on photographic prints. Yuk!
you're a bit harsh dude.
Hi, Sandra
You should read me when I really get the bit between my teeth!
