April Fool

Time to own up. I'm sure everyone knew Gaddafi's Red Nose Day was an April Fools joke, but so was the new UK street sign. Road safety chiefs had them erected around popular nightspot areas in the Romanian town of Pecica last year, due to the number of accidents involving cars and drunken pedestrians. The signs attracted unwelcome media attention and were scrapped (title link). Councillors don't want to admit that their home town is full of drunken louts and squiffy girls. Mine is. They smash shop windows and bus shelters on their way home.
