Palestine Youth Art

BBC News has belatedly posted a slide show of photos from the Mosaic Rooms' latest exhibition in London: Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made On: Young Artists From Palestine. I write "belatedly" because the exhibition came in two parts and Part 1 finished at the end of March. Part 2 continues until 21 April. The exhibits are (or were) a selection of work by winners and finalists in the A. M. Qattan Foundation’s Young Artist of the Year Award 2010, open to artists under 30 of Palestinian descent, from any part of the world (CLICK). The art is dire. Majd Abdel Hamid's Painkillers, a Mickey-taking sculpture of Jerusalem's al-Aqsa Mosque made with cardboard and pills, is the best of a very bad deal. Don't bother. Just click the title link for the slide show.
