Another Van Dyck

Today BBC News found the Van Dyck painting of a Carmelite Monk I posted on Saturday (CLICK)! Here's the latest Van Dyck rediscovery: A Portrait of a Young Girl holding a Fan. This is manifestly the work of a master at the height of his powers. The girl isn't pretty, but she is wearing a very expensive outfit, so she must have been the apple of Daddy's eye. A wealthy daddy. Fine art connoisseur and gallery owner Philip Mould OBE spotted this painting "of the Flemish School" while browsing a Christie’s catalogue. He researched it and bid for it, convinced it was a Van Dyck. He has since had it cleaned. It goes on display to the public at Philip Mould Fine Paintings in Dover Street in the exhibition Finding Van Dyck, from 15 June to 13 July, entry free (title link).
