London Map Fair

If you're into ancient and fanciful cartography, you have one day left to hare off to the 2011 London Map Fair in the depths of the Royal Geographical Society in London. This two-day fair, which opened today, is the largest antiquarian map fair in Europe. Maps printed between the 15th and 19th centuries are on display. The example shown, complete with fairy in the top left corner, is a detail from Johann Homann Baptist's 18th Century Set of the World & Continents. The fair must be popular, because when I tried to visit its website (CLICK) I got no farther than the message: "Bandwidth Limit Exceeded". Admission is free.
