Whitechapel Gallery

The Whitechapel Gallery in London's east end is of special interest this month. For aspiring artists under 35 there is the Converse/Dazed 2011 Emerging Artists Award, which offers the chance to win a first prize of £6,000. It's open for submissions until 30 June, so get cracking (CLICK). For the taxpayer there's a first: Government Art Collection: At Work, which opened today and runs till 4 September 2012 in Gallery 7. This is our chance to view some of what the Government Art Collection wastes our money on, shown in a public art gallery for the very first time (title link). Admission is free.
