Potter Fans Beware!

J.K. Rowling's new website Pottermore doesn't open officially until October, but already cyber conmen have targeted it to snare the unwary Potter fan who wants to win one of the one million free beta accounts for those who complete a magical quill challenge the fastest. Scammers are offering to sell fake accounts. There's also search engine poisoning to misdirect fans to malicious websites containing viruses and other malware. The old warning about your computer being infested with viruses and trojans is another snare. Then there are fake surveys that reward you with a download full of adware or other malicious code. These pests are criminals. And don't trust Pottermore sales on eBay either (title link).
