The White Shadow
The first three reels of Alfred Hitchcock's first film, made when he was 24, have been found in the collection of the late Jack Murtagh at the New Zealand Film Archive (title link). The White Shadow (1923) was directed by Graham Cutts, but Hitch seems to have done almost everything else. He wrote the film’s scenario, designed the sets, edited the footage and was assistant director. The silent melodrama starred Betty Compson (shown) as twin sisters in a vaguely Jekyll-and-Hyde scenario. The second half of the film has yet to be found.

Indeed. Fingers crossed it still exists.
Hi, laughingsalmon
I was sure I'd posted your comment about hoping to find the last 3 reels of this movie before I answered it, but your comment seems to have gone missing since I replied. Weird.
