Sir Paul's Wedding

Government quangos are spending fortunes trying to persuade foreigners that London is the city to visit in 2012, but this image of filthy Old Marylebone Town Hall, which houses Westminster Register Office, is beamed round the world, thanks to Sir Paul McCartney's wedding to US trucking heiress Nancy Shevell yesterday. The slim bride may have looked knockout in a Pippa-Middleton-style dress, but the waiting paparazzi had most of the day to photo the sooty facade above, when they weren't sheltering from the rain.
