British Museum Manga

The British Museum in London recently opened a free and novel exhibition in its lobby: Manga at the British Museum drawings by Hoshino Yukinobu (title link). This shows the original drawings from the manga series Professor Munakata’s British Museum Adventure, serialized over 5 months in the Japanese fortnightly magazine Big Comic. A visit to the museum in 2009 inspired the series. The exhibition runs until 8 April 2012. Worth popping in if you're passing. Also currently on display, until 8 January 2012, and free to view in Room 3 is Hokusai's Great Wave, the best known masterpiece of Japanese woodblock prints (CLICK). Its proper title is Under the Wave off Kanagawa (Kanagawa oki nami-ura).
