Weiwei Seeds Bought

Believe it or not, Tate Passé has bought a lorryload of Ai Weiwei's ceramic sunflower seeds for an undisclosed sum, presumably an embarrassingly large one because Tate International Council, The Art Fund, and private donations all contributed toward it (title link). I hope Tate Passé isn't helping Weiwei evade taxes on this sale! The BBC mentions ceramic dust, but omits to add that its own Arts Editor Will Gompertz had the "seeds" tested and reported 35% of lead in the black paint used, a health hazard to the artisans who painted them (CLICK). Will Weiwei ship the rest of this dangerous junk back to China or get a cowboy firm to dump it somewhere? There's more than 9 tonnes left over!
