Luciano Ventrone

Aleah Chapin's Auntie (next post down or CLICK) reminded me of The Nude exhibition at the Albemarle Gallery in Mayfair, which I previewed a few days ago (CLICK). One of the 17 artists showing in this collective exhibition is Luciano Ventrone, who is considered to be the most important contemporary realist painter in Italy. His still lifes are out of this world (title link). His magnificent nude above - Il drappo Giallo - is one of the paintings in The Nude exhibition.

It doesn't look like a painting, it looks like a photograph; no wonder the artist's so admired.

Yes, he's a real traditionlist in representational art. Vist his website for more of his brilliant work.
