Thames Pageant

Here's my little montage of yesterday's Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant. The artist's impression of the royal barge Spirit of Chartwell took an optimistic view of the weather on the big day. From drizzle to teeming. They had to cancel the diamond-shaped flypast due to the foul weather. But the Union Jacks kept waving in the rain. Her Majesty the Queen stood for ages acknowledging the floatpast of 1,000 boats. Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, obviously enjoyed herself. Best wishes to the Duke of Edinburgh, now recovering in hospital. CLICK for a BBC high definition interactive graphic of the event.
