James Bond Day

Did you know that 5 October is Global James Bond Day? And this year sees the 50th anniversary of the start of the movie franchise with Dr No (1962). To celebrate, Christie's will be holding two auctions of Bond memorabilia direct from the archives of EON Productions, one online (CLICK), the other by invitation only. The star of the show is a 2008 Aston Martin 6 Litre V12 DBS 2-Door Coupe used by Daniel Craig as James Bond in Quantum of Solace (2008). Londoners can visit the free exhibition at Christie’s South Kensington saleroom, 85 Old Brompton Road, from 29 September until 5 October. New Yorkers can visit The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) which is celebrating 50 Years of James Bond by screening all 22 Bond moves, donated by Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli and his daughter (CLICK). The Telegraph has posted a slide show of James Bond movie posters (CLICK). Shown is a detail from For Your Eyes Only (1981).
