Sir Michael Caine

Today the Museum of London opened a photographic exhibition of the life and work of Sir Michael Caine, admission free (CLICK). Coinciding with the opening of the exhibition, Sir Michael has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London in a service conducted by the Clerk of the Chamberlain's Court at the Museum's City Gallery (CLICK). Not bad for the lad born Maurice Micklewhite Jnr in Rotherhithe, London. The Museum will also show four of his best-loved movies. You can vote for your favourite on the Museum website until 14 March, the date of Sir Michael's 80th birthday. The exhibition runs until 14 July. Shown is Michael Caine in Zulu (1964), his first starring role.
