Motherhood

On Friday The Photographer's Gallery in London opens Home Truths: Photography, Motherhood and Identity, a group show by 8 photographers trying to catch images of the reality of motherhood rather than the usual madonna-and-child stereotypes (CLICK). Shown is Elinor Carucci's The First Week (2004). This exhibition comes with the now familiar warning to parents and guardians of under 16's about adult content. A companion exhibition will open at The Foundling Museum, also on 11 October: Home Truths: Photography, Motherhood and Loss (CLICK). Both shows run until 5 January 2014.
