Putin's Trip
While an estimated one billion people are getting their knickers in a twist over some football match in Brazil, Russian president Vladimir Putin is showing how he has become the most powerful man in the world. En route to the FIFA World Cup final in Rio de Janeiro, Putin made a whistle stop tour of Latin American countries: Cuba, Nicaragua and Argentina, where he signed a series of agreements on nuclear energy in Argentina. Here's Vlad trying to look angelic beside Argentinian President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Next stop lunch with the fourth most powerful person in the world Chancellor Angela Merkel. After Merkel stops jumping for joy at Germany's win, Putin is off to the Brazilian city of Fortaleza for a BRICs summit (Brazil, Russia, India and China, the world's four emerging economies). It's all go if you're the world's most powerful person (CLICK).
