Marilyn, a work of art?
The Musée Maillol in Paris has extended its Marilyn, La Dernière séance exhibition until 6 November 2006. There's nothing like a nude Marilyn Monroe to get the punters through the doors. The photos were all taken by celebrity photographer Bert Stern over a two-day shoot for Vogue Magazine. So lots of piccies to view, but I can't say that this example of Bert's soft-focus photography is artistic. "Pedestrian" is the term I would use. Marilyn was a photographer's dream, when she wasn't throwing wobblers. She had the knack of making her nudity look innocent, like a little girl showing off and saying "Look how pretty I am". Click the title link to visit the Musée Maillol website, which is one of the worst I've ever seen. And 80% concessions!
