Devotional at NPG

Des'ree (née Desiree Weeks) photo © Clive Kofi Allen (1997)It's well worth dipping into the forthcoming exhibitions at the National Portrait Galley, London. This beautiful photo of Des'ree superimposed over landscape by Clive Kofi Allen is one of 19 photographic portraits of black female British singers to be shown in Sonia Boyce's installation Devotional, which also includes Shirley Bassey and Ms Dynamite. Find it in Room 37a from 16 June to 25 November 2007.

Yup. That's a good'un. Irony is: that's a photographer being artistic. How often do we get art from artists nowadays? (Dunno what you're doing in your studio, mind. Is it artistic?)

Not only that but apparently I can't spell LOL! I can't think of anything more delightful than just shoving a basket of dirty laundry into the gallery and claiming it is art, and getting away with that ;) NOT!

Sounds good.
Which reminds me, have you seen the video of Sir Nicholas being handed a piccie of Tracey Emin's knickers? The link is among the comments on the Tate Modern sleepover (from the artist himself).
