Madeleine's Eyes

It is 101 days since Madeleine McCann disappeared, and the Portuguese fuzz remain worse than clueless. Their latest theory - that she was murdered in the holiday apartment and her body removed - is most unlikely, but it gives them the perfect excuse for scaling down their search. And their one named suspect is a foreigner, which diverts attention from home-grown predators in a Portuguese holiday resort. A local Peeping Tom (or Thomasina) seems the most likely suspect. Despite the incompetence of the Portuguese fuzz and the Portuguese legal system, never before has a little girl's face received so much publicity. The fact that Madeleine hasn't been sighted in all this time doesn't bode well, but what if her abductor changed her appearance: cut and dyed her hair and dressed her in boys' clothes? Her right eye with its tadpole-shaped pupil is unmistakable.
