Mammoths in Ilford
Here's an artist's impression of the latest way of wasting ratepayers' money that councillors of the London Borough of Redbridge have come up with. Yes, mammoths roamed Ilford yonks ago. Now they drive about in Jaguar cars while pretending to be Green. I wonder how many traffic accidents this monster will cause.

Coxsoft, Whilst I bow to your greater knowledge on Art, as i understand it, this is a private initiative by a group of enthusiasts who are trying to raise money for this project.
It is me that has suggested that some of the Section 106 wonga earmarked for "Art in Public Places" might not go amiss here.
Now, Coxsoft, a bronze mammoth may not be your cup of tea, but I like it, and it's a damn sight better than some of the tosh [by your own admission] on your blog and anything that our Council are likely to come up with. They'd probably hire your mate from Tate Modern, the pooee one.
Sorry, mate.
So long as our fat-cat councillors aren't involved and I won't have to pay a penny toward it, I think a bronze mammoth is a fantastic idea for Ilford.
But I still think a busy roundabout would be a dangerous place to put it. Why not place it in the centre of Fullwell Avenue allotments, as a guardian? I'd go for that.
