Bamborough Castle Sold

JMW Turner - Bamborough Castle (1830's)Take a long look at JMW Turner's watercolour of Bamborough Castle in Northumberland from the 1830's. It hasn't been on public display for nearly 120 years, having been hoarded for this period by the Vanderbilt family in the USA. Today, Sotheby's in London sold it to another private US collector for £2.93m. It is utterly obscene that rich people are allowed to buy world art treasures and stick them in the family vault. Fat cats should commission work from today's artists and leave world heritage to public art galleries and museums. Commission an unmade bed from Whatshername and keep it in the vault for as long as you like. Please.
