Airbrushed Nude Update

Royal Opera House - Rigoletto PosterJuan Pablo Di Pace, the actor whose manhood was airbrushed out for a Royal Opera House Rigoletto poster (CLICK), has told the BBC that it wasn't the emasculation that miffed him, but the fact that his image had been used without his consent. Good point. He compares the photo to a "Caravaggio painting". Another good point. The photographer clearly intended to give the impression of an Old Master painting. But "exploited"? Come on, Juan. You're milking this for all it's worth. You've got more exposure out of it than Rigoletto. Try working for UK local government if you want to know how being exploited feels.

His naked image was used without his permission. Irrespective of the purpose, this is another example of human exploitation in the British media.

I suspect it's more an example of incompetence. Somebody should have asked him to sign a photo release form before they took the shot. It's standard procedure. Without his signature, they can't use his photo if he says "No" at a later stage. And he did.
