Peter Cushing Art

Peter Cushing OBE - Whitstable HarbourWhat do Sir Winston Churchill, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and the late Peter Cushing OBE have in common, apart from being famous Brits? Answer: amateur painting. A week ago a coloured sketch donated by Ronnie Wood came up for sale at the Royal Academy's Schools Annual Dinner and Auction in 6 Burlington Gardens, London (CLICK to view it). On 13 March a collection of watercolours by Peter Cushing goes under the hammer - er ... Hammer Films? - at Canterbury Auction Galleries, estimated value £12,000. By the way, Royal Mail will be issuing a set of Classic Carry On and Hammer Films stamps on Tuesday 10 June.
