New Figurative Art Prize

The Mall Galleries in London have announced a major new art competition with two awards totalling £35,000: the Threadneedle Figurative Prize. The winner will be decided by a public vote available online and throughout the exhibition, which opens on 20 August and continues until 6 September 2008. The selectors are seeking innovative artworks that "stretch the boundaries of traditional figurative media, without compromising technique or artistic excellence"; but the public will have the final say!
