A Delayed Bequest
From gross nudity to elegant Nuns in the Calefactory at Carmona! And why not? It's all rather complicated and involves a bequest by Helen Guiterman, works by 19th Century Scottish artist David Roberts, The Art Fund, a forged will, a police investigation and a three-year prison sentence for Shaun Gray, Guiterman's cousin's grandson. It took a decade to sort out this mess. The bequest of paintings and drawings worth £500,000 will be added to the National Gallery of Scotland's existing Roberts collection and will go on display next year.
