Herring Gull Wins

This photograph of a herring gull defying the waves on a beach in the Isles of Scilly won first prize in the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2010. Steve Young, who took the shot, gains £5,000. This and other top photos from the competition will be shown in a year-long touring exhibition, which begins at Hooper's Gallery, London, on 14 October (CLICK).
