TPOTY Awards 2010

There are some gobsmacking photos in the Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) awards 2010. The exhibition opened on Thursday at the Royal Geographical Society Exhibition Pavilion in South Kensington, London, and runs until 10 June, admission free (CLICK). UK photographer James Morgan won the Encounters portfolio with some terrific underwater shots. I love the grin on 6-year-old Enal's face as he plays with his pet shark in a penned area of ocean beneath his stilted house in Wangi, Indonesia. Paul Kerley has produced another excellent slide show for BBC News, featuring a selection of winning photos as well as early classics. Awards creator Chris Coe does the voiceover (title link).
