Goodbyee, Goodbyee

I'm not going to mourn the passing of the News of the World. It was one of those gutter rags which no thinking person would buy. Of course the populace bought it in their millions. That's why our politicians had to suck up to its editors and its owner: Rupert Murdoch. That one man can control what millions of people think and how they vote is a massive threat to democracy. Look at Italy and media mogul Silvio Berlusconi's tenacious grip on power, despite the criminal charges against him. News Corporation's proposed takeover of BSkyB would put even greater king-making power into Murdoch's hands than did the News of the World. With newspapers in decline, BSkyB is the road to power.
