Weiwei Tops Poll

ArtReview magazine's annual poll has named Ai Weiwei as the most powerful person in the art world (title link). Moneybanks Hirst is the only other purported artist to have claimed this distinction, in 2005 and 2008. I guess it's all thanks to Beijing Fake Cultural Development Ltd, controlled by Ai's wife, and The People's Republic of China, which held him under arrest for 80 days while investigating an unpaid tax bill of more than 12m yuan (£1.2m, $1.9m). Ai Weiwei's Marble Arm (2011) sums it up for me. CLICK for the top 10.
