Emin meets Queen

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Margate yesterday and lunched in the new Turner Contemporary art gallery, which has attracted 300,000 bemused visitors since Emin opened it last April. Why Her Majesty chose Armistice Day for this visit is anyone's guess. Regeneration after destruction? Tracey Emin shook the Queen's hand - or at least touched fingers - in front of JMW Turner's painting Crossing the Brook. I have a horrible feeling it will be Dame Emin before long.
