Badlands

I lost interest in The Threadneedle Prize this year, because the shortlisted entries were pathetic. So I didn't notice who won the Visitor's Choice Award of £10,000. It was Nicholas Mcleod, who specializes in painting creepy cottages, sinister landscapes, wastelands, remote farms and crime scenes. His latest works are on show in Nicholas McLeod: Badlands at the EB&Flow gallery in London until 3 February 2012 (title link). Above is his The Last Weeks Of January 1976 (Version 2) 2011.
