Deutsche Börse Prize

The shortlist for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2012 has been announced. Pieter Hugo, Rinko Kawauchi, John Stezaker and Christopher Williams are the four contenders for the award of £30,000. Sadly, none of them is worth it. Christopher Williams' photo of apples with the usual spray of water droplets is the best work on show (title link). It's professional, but mediocre. I see so many brilliant photos when browsing news on the Web that I'm amazed the prize judges have settled for mediocrity.
