Raquel Welch Crucified

Tomorrow there's a private viewing of Terry O'Neill - Reworked at the new Rook & Raven Gallery in London (title link). The exhibition opens to the public on the 9th and runs till 31 March. A gaggle of contemporary artists have tarted up some of the photographer's classic photos and have manifestly failed to improve them. The striking original images are shown beside the pathetic tart-ups. O'Neill's powerful image of Raquel Welch on the Crucifix (1970) in a skimpy One Million Years B.C. outfit was considered to be so controversial at the time that it wasn't published for 30 years.
