Gezellig

Here's actress Joan Collins as you've never seen her before. It's a painting by "politically incorrect provocateur" artist John Currin entitled Gezellig (2006). And no, Joan didn't pose for it. Currin took her image from the cover of a 1970s magazine showing her in scanty black lace lingerie. He used his imagination to undress her and placed the book in her hand to suggest a slightly bored, middle-class intellectual. The painting comes up for grabs on 14 November in Christie's New York auction of the collection of TV producer Douglas S. Cramer, estimated value $1.2m - $1.8m (CLICK).
