Terminus Place

Believe it or not, this is a painting: Clive Head's Terminus Place. CLICK to see a larger graphic. If contemporary installations were of this fine artistic quality, I'd be all for them. Tomorrow the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London opens From Victoria to Arcadia: Clive Head and Nicolas Poussin (CLICK). Er ... eh? What? I quote the gallery's unbelievable blurb. "Painted in response to Nicolas Poussin’s The Triumph of David [CLICK], Clive Head’s work Terminus Place will sit alongside the Gallery’s collection of works by Poussin. This provides a timely opportunity to reconsider the place of the artist today and a look back to Old Master techniques." Oh right. Mm. You have until 13 January to compare them.
