The Golden Lion

The 54th Venice Biennale Golden Lion award for Best National Participation has been won by the German Pavilion with its retrospective of the late Christoph Schlingensief, who died in the summer of 2010. The photo shows his widow and longtime collaborator Aino Laberenz with the Commissioner of the German Pavilion Susanne Gaensheimer, who is holding the award (title link). The Biennale continues until 27 November, but is closed throughout August. Don't bother, is my advice.
