Ilya Repin Sale

Sotheby's in London is spearheading three days of Russian auctions with this painting Portrait of the Artists Wife, Vera Repin (1878) by Russian master Ilya Efimovich Repin, estimated value £1m to £1.5m ($1.6m to $2.4m). The first auction begins today at 7pm. The Russian Paintings Day Sale starts at 10am tomorrow. The third sale, on Wednesday, is Fabergé and Icons (title link).
